2004-05-31 [Ranasha]: why is there an accent on the o from the iota?
2004-05-31 [Ranasha]: and i think it should be Ómega and not Òmega ^^
2004-05-31 [Ranasha]: that was all for the moment ^^
2004-06-01 [Janouk]: I got that out of Hellenike, so 0.o I thought it strange as well;P
2004-07-06 [Janouk]: Ahhh!! I'm almost going on holiday to France and now the wiki starts going crazy! *grabbes hair* panic
2004-08-22 [Ranasha]: you're doin' fine (^.^)
2005-02-10 [Yiwerra]: O___O (i know this is random and doesnt fit in here) but OMG!!!!! O____O im quite shocked

2005-02-12 [Yiwerra]: i always thought they lied when they talked about greek >.< ='(

2006-07-24 [Nuit Darksin]: should i write that down?
2006-08-01 [Janouk]: What do you mean?
2006-08-02 [Nuit Darksin]: the chart
2006-08-02 [Janouk]: Oh! ^^ I think the best way is to start with recognising the characters. Just like the ABC. Alpha, Bèta, Gamma, Delta etc. You can also start trying to write the symbols down, but maybe I should make a new lesson about that someday.
2006-08-02 [Nuit Darksin]: yeah maybe
2006-10-31 [windowframe]: do the accents on the vowels act the same way as macrons do in for Latin vowels?
2006-11-01 [Janouk]: I'm afraid I never learned anything about that. But I found this on wikipedia: http://en.wiki
A macron, from Greek μακρός (makros) meaning "large", is a diacritic ¯ placed over a vowel originally to indicate that the vowel is long. The opposite is a breve ˘, used to indicate a short vowel.
Wouldn't this mean it already existed back then?
2006-11-01 [windowframe]: no, not necessarily. 'Television' is rooted in Greek and Latin, doesn't mean that the Greeks and Romans had TVs. :P
2006-11-01 [Janouk]: lol, you're right about that! ;)
2007-07-02 [Adela Leafshanks]: When I started learning ancient greek, I found it hard to distuingish between xi and zeta, so I just called xi 'squiggly' and left it at that XD 'Twas most amusing.
